I am not sure why this happens but every year in August there is a lot of demand for magic shows. Maybe the families are back from their vacations and want to squeeze in the birthday parties before school starts. Or maybe it is just the great weather in the Bay Area. I also think there are many adult parties in addition to kids parties. All in all a busy time for people like me. It is great fun to meet different groups of people and entertain both kids and adults at these events.
Magic always brings a smile to everyone's face and they love being completely bamboozled by some of the tricks. For many tricks people invent explanations that suit themselves e.g. it must be sleight of hand, he got lucky, it must be magnets, etc. But when people see a spoon bending right in front of their eyes or when I discover what people have in their hands by reading their body language or when they see an impossible prediction out in the open, they are truly amazed and their reactions are priceless !!
